ABOUT CANDI and TEAM
Massage by Candi has always been part of who I am. Some of my earliest memories include “massaging” my mom. She broke her back at the age of 17 and had chronic back pain because of it. I would rub her back almost every evening.
In high school I discovered that giving my mom 30-45 min back and shoulder massages would get me out of chores. Soon enough after dance practice and trips with the dance team, I learned the other dancers always wanted a massage. As I got older, I learned that my friends enjoyed when I worked on them as well.
While I was attending Butte College, a good friend of mine danced with the Sacramento Ballet and suggested I become a professional massage therapist. On our way to lunch one day, she pulled into Chico Therapy and Wellness Center. I signed up for the fall class of 2003.
In 2004, I moved back to my home town of Crescent City, California where I truly began my practice. I spent the next 3 ½ years becoming successful and fine tuning my skills, even earning Best of Del Norte for massage. But I kept coming back to Chico. I love it here! So in 2007, I returned to this place I call home and have been healing Chicoans ever since.
I have continued to take classes of different modalities of massage and body work. I have taken Human Anatomy at Butte College and worked in the sports medicine center on campus with the Butte Athletes. Through my years of experience building up to becoming a Certified Massage Therapist, I developed an intuitive touch. I can feel tension and injury in the body. I’m able to feel the pressure your body is willing to receive so that you can have the most therapeutic experience.
I have also been active my whole life riding horses, playing soccer, dance team, running, hiking, cycling, crossfit, kayaking and many more activities. I’ve competed in a bikini competition and crossfit competition. Through my personal experiences as an active person and my pursuit of knowledge about the body, I have and understanding of movement on a physical and emotional level.
I feel very fortunate to have found a profession where I love what I do and I look forward to helping others feel comfort in their body’s everyday!
